Snappy Tomato

Snappy Tomato

If you’re an original resident of Hardin Valley, you know that Snappy Tomato has been one of the long time businesses in the community. Well before there were schools built and rows of subdivisions, the original community pizzeria was here serving up delicious pizza pies and so much more!

Bill and Jenny Steward bought the Snappy Tomato business in Hardin Valley in 2012 along with two other locations in the area. They were new to the restaurant business at the time, but excited to follow their dreams. Buying a franchise location gave Bill and Jenny a roadmap of how to run things, and with GREAT community support already- Snappy Tomato has been a wonderful success in 37932!

As Hardin Valley has grown and more restaurants have come into the area, business is still GOOD for this veteran eatery. Snappy Tomato prides themselves with a staff that provides GREAT service and TOP SHELF quality eats; their long term employees keep loyal customers coming back regularly. Bill, Jenny and their son work right alongside their staff and they truly care about the product that they are putting out. Don’t be surprised if Bill himself is the one who delivers your pizzas.

Two things that make their pizza stand out are the fresh dough and vegetables. Employees come in at nine in the morning to make the dough in house; they cut all the of the vegetables by hand and it is never frozen, canned or shipped in on a truck! Their signature pizza sauce is slightly sweet with just a touch of spice, making it the perfect combination!

If the fresh ingredients didn’t already set Snappy Tomato apart from the rest, their BEAST Pizza really takes their menu up a notch! If you aren’t familiar, the BEAST is equivalent to THREE large pizzas. It’s square in shape and contains 24 slices! It’s the largest pizza in Knoxville that you can purchase and is a great value for large events.

Jenny says there are a couple pizzas that are MUST try’s if you haven’t already: The award winning Loaded Baked Potato Pizza and the BBQ Chicken Pizza. The Loaded Baked Potato pizza was the winner of the 2018 Midwest Pizza Challenge and it has a pizza crust with a base of ranch dressing (instead of pizza sauce), cheese, mini potatoes, topped with bacon! The BBQ chicken pizza has a base of Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, layered with cheese, chicken and bacon. You had us at bacon 😉

If Pizza isn’t your thing (gasp!), there are several pastas, sub sandwiches, hoagies, calzones, chicken wings and salads to choose from. Their salads are super fresh and crispy because Jenny is a fanatic about serving only the best vegetables! Don’t deny yourself the pleasure of the 3 deep dessert menu: cinnabread, raspberry cinnabread, and an 8 inch warm chocolate chip cookie. Why choose? Get all three!

Fun Fact: The busiest day of the year for pizza is The Super Bowl and the second busiest day is Halloween!
